Upsale/overcharge warning. Don't get ripped off. Listen to these bad Google reviews, I wish I had. I brought my cart in to replace ONE tire. Their "tire machine" was broken so they sold me a full set of 4 used wheels with tires. $300 Seemed reasonable at the time. 2 weeks go by. I never hear back. Finally call and they say it's ready, but it was more complicated than they thought. I went to pick it up today and the bill was $1030!!!! Didn't give me a heads up, didn't ask me to authorize. And when I complained about this I was given a $30 discount by the owner (who was actively smoking a cigarette at the counter while not listening to anything I had to say). Save yourself...go somewhere else!!
I am very satisfied with the purchase of a used golf cart. When I called to ask if they had any gas-powered ones the woman who answered the call transferred me to MJ, who was a wonderful sales person. He gave me a lot of detailed information on one he had in the shop that was ready to go. I'd called around a lot of other places and knew his price was one of the lowest for that year and model. No one else gave any details on the phone they just would give a price and say they had one. So my husband and I went out there and MJ let us test drive the cart and offered some suggestions on things to swap out so that it would handle our somewhat steep path to the dock. He impressed me with how much he knew about the carts. My husband asked some technical questions, and he had all the answers. The cart was ready by the end of the week, much earlier than expected. We have had it for a month now and it's been great. Our experience with this shop has been outstanding. And the receptionist was very pleasant to me on the phone so I'm not sure if she's the same one that other seem to be complaining about. I can only speak from my experience.
I have taken my golf cart to Carts Plus many times before 3-22-2022 for the same thing, dead batteries. I have had to do this at least 3 times, and all 3 times the charge was between $35 - $40. I took it o them again, as usual, on 3-22-2022, to get the batteries topped off. I explained to him what was wrong, he looked up when I purchased the batteries from him, which was less than a year ago, and he said it would take 7 - 10 days. I was surprised to hear back from them on Friday, 3-25-2022, that the cart was ready. I asked how much it was, and the worker told me the bill was $167.67. I was surprised and asked why it was so high. The worker first tried to explain, but couldn't, so he was supposed to get the owner on the phone. The owner did not get on the phone, so the worker told me he couldn't explain the entire cost. I told the worker I would come by and pick it up, but would not be back. The owner called me back a few minutes later and told me there was a $67.50 diagnostic fee, the shop fee had gone up, and a few other things were done to it. As I said at the beginning, I told him the issue, and it has been in there for the same thing in the past. After he explained to me the same as the worker, he offered to reduce it by $20. I can see prices going up a little over a year, but not from $35 - $40 to $167.50. Needless to say, I am on the hunt for a reputable golf cart place. Make sure you get in writing the amount and work performed up front. Buyer beware.
