Cushman Golf Cart Reviews: Who Makes Them & Prices (2026)

Cushman belongs on your shortlist when the main job is moving equipment or people around a property. Choose a specific vehicle for the load and route; the brand name alone does not establish capacity, road permission or reliability.

Who makes Cushman, and where?

Textron identifies Cushman and E-Z-GO as Textron Specialized Vehicles brands. Cushman says its vehicles are manufactured in Augusta, Georgia.

Club Car is a separate company: Platinum Equity acquired it from Ingersoll Rand in June 2021. That distinction matters when locating a dealer or ordering parts. It does not establish which vehicle suits your work better.

Match the vehicle to the job

Cushman's current catalog separates Hauler utility vehicles, Shuttle passenger vehicles, burden carriers and tow tractors. A cargo vehicle is a different buying problem from a passenger shuttle. Count the seats you actually need, weigh the materials you carry, and measure the narrowest doorway or path before requesting a demonstration.

For a concrete utility example, the Hauler PRO manufacturer page, checked October 10, 2026, lists:

These are the manufacturer's specifications, not results from our own load or range test. The linked June 2024 sell sheet distinguishes the PRO from the PRO-X: the latter has a 500-lb bed limit and 900-lb vehicle limit. Do not transfer one model's limits to the other or assume an older 72V vehicle is the current twin-pack configuration.

Our load comparison: an 850-lb shipment exceeds the advertised PRO bed limit by 50 lb, even though 850 is below the 1,200-lb vehicle figure. Total capacity cannot be substituted for bed capacity. People, accessories and load distribution also matter; get the manual for the vehicle's serial number and have the dealer confirm the complete intended load and operating conditions.

MSRP is a starting point for comparison. Ask for the exact battery, bed, canopy and accessories on the quote, then the total with delivery, preparation and applicable taxes. A current base price does not value an older used Cushman.

What actual users reported

In Sydney Fischer's November 25, 2024 Golfdom award feature, Matt Davidson, superintendent at Islington Golf Club in Toronto, described his team's Hauler Pro Elite 6.2 as quiet when transporting tools and equipment, with little disturbance to golfers. That is a relevant professional user's observation. It is a selected award testimonial, with no measured noise level, load, operating hours or workday range; it cannot establish a durability ranking or the performance of the 4.2 configuration above.

A different ownership account illustrates the importance of service information. On November 10–12, 2019, Cartaholics member hvw described a 2017 gas Hauler 800X with 63 hours that stopped cranking after routine service. The owner later reported that replacing a failed fuse restored operation, but the cause was not established. They also struggled to find the correct wiring diagram. This is one low-hour gas vehicle, not evidence of a recurring Cushman defect. Before buying used, confirm that a local shop can obtain the correct manual and parts for that exact generation.

Compare models, service and ownership cost

Cushman is not the only utility choice. For example, Club Car's XRT 1550 4x4 offers IntelliTrak automatic all-wheel drive. Compare actual vehicles' load definitions, terrain suitability and service arrangements instead of declaring a brand-wide winner.

For each quote, request:

• The model year, serial number, battery configuration and intended-use manual.
• A demonstration on your intended property route with the dealer-approved load.
• The written vehicle and battery warranties, including hour limits, commercial use, labor, transport and exclusions.
• The servicing dealer's parts lead times and who handles battery diagnostics.
• Maintenance records and a condition inspection for a used vehicle.

A battery warranty headline does not cover every component or prove a particular range. Ask whether the quoted warranty applies to your configuration and use, and keep the actual terms with the invoice.

Public roads and recalls

Select the exact factory LSV configuration if your work route requires one, then confirm registration, insurance, driver requirements and the permitted roads with the local authority. Neither lights nor a model name authorize a road. Start with our state golf cart law guides and verify your actual route.

For a used LSV, check its VIN for recalls and obtain repair documentation. NHTSA's March 15, 2024 notice for campaign 24V-195 covers certain 2024 Hauler PRO LSVs with a triple battery pack: contact from the dump-bed latch could damage a battery case and create a fire risk. The notice specifies a dealer remedy. It does not say every Cushman, every PRO or the current twin-pack vehicle is affected.
