Used Golf Cart Models: Prices From 2,288 March Listings

Compare E-Z-GO RXV, Yamaha Drive, Club Car Tempo, E-Z-GO TXT and Club Car Precedent when local shops support those exact vehicles. Together these five groups account for 1,614 of 2,288 listings, or 70.5%, in our March 8, 2026 GolfCartResource asking-price sample. That makes them useful comparison groups; it does not establish which model is safest, most reliable or cheapest to own.

Historical Model Prices

The table is ordered by listing count, not a quality score. Each row merges variants under the model family. The middle 50% is a descriptive price band, not an appraisal of a cart you inspect today.

Year spans above reproduce seller fields, not verified production histories. A suspicious year/model pairing needs a serial-number check. For example, the Tempo group's 2013 entry cannot establish that a vehicle built that year was originally a Tempo.

The Yamaha Drive median exceeds RXV by $1,580, but the groups are unlike. Yamaha Drive includes 294 Gas-labelled listings, versus 40 for RXV; their years, seats and equipment also differ. The difference does not prove a Yamaha badge premium, gas demand or a better ride.

A low DS median likewise does not measure repair cost or remaining life. Inspect the actual frame and components rather than treating the badge as a condition report.

Power Labels and Price Differences

This reproduction groups labels containing lithium as Lithium; gas/diesel as Gas; electric/battery/lead or HP FLA as Electric; all others as Unknown. Electric does not independently verify lead-acid chemistry. The seller's installed-battery label and inspection take precedence.

These are unadjusted cross-sectional groups. Four lithium TXT listings are particularly weak evidence for pricing another TXT. Even larger cells are not matched by year, seats, location, condition or factory versus retrofit battery. No table difference here measures what a lithium conversion adds to the same cart.

Check the Installed System Before Buying Parts

Model family is a starting point for obtaining the correct manual. It is insufficient to select a charger, cable kit, light kit or lithium conversion.

The August 2024 RXV ELiTE owner manual covers specific ELiTE Fleet/Freedom configurations and lists a single 56.7 V Li-ion composite module as the standard pack. It requires battery-pack and electrical service by an authorized facility. Do not transfer that pack arrangement or service procedure to older 48 V lead-acid RXVs, or assume a generic 48 V aftermarket kit is approved for ELiTE.

A concrete owner example shows why repair records matter. Dooleys, writing July 13–14, 2024 about a 2010 48 V RXV, reported three solenoid replacements in three years and another unit heating after a quarter-mile ride. The thread did not establish the final cause or repair. This one modified/serviced vehicle does not establish RXV failure rates; ask what caused a seller's repeated component replacements, rather than counting new parts as proof the fault is solved.

Inspect and Compare the Actual Cart

Get the serial number, installed pack and charger labels, service receipts, ownership documents and modification history before comparing offers. Arrange a model-specific inspection covering battery condition, charging, brakes, steering, frame and wiring. Ask a local repair shop whether it supports that controller and power system, and what parts it can source.

Compare like vehicles: year, powertrain, seat configuration, included charger, preparation, warranty and delivered total. An illustrative $5,800 cart needing an independently quoted $1,200 repair totals $7,000 before tax, transport and other work. That may cost more than a $6,500 inspected cart needing none of that repair; neither hypothetical is a market price or a reliability promise.

For road use, confirm vehicle classification, paperwork and your state/local rules before paying for a street-legal claim. A working light kit alone is insufficient. See the used-cart inspection guide and state law directory.

How the Sample Was Reproduced

The repository preserves the March 8 collection of 10,417 GolfCartResource listings, including 2,401 marked Used. Requiring Used, a stated year and make, and a positive numeric asking price leaves 2,288 rows, with observed prices $999–$29,995 and an overall median of $6,475. All retained prices also fall within $500–$30,000. A $1,000 minimum would remove the one $999 row and produce 2,287, so this historical sample is distinct from the toolkit's later filter and August sample.

We repeated the repository analysis script's case-sensitive model-family matching for these rows: named E-Z-GO and Club Car substrings, and Yamaha Drive/YDR grouped as Drive. Quartiles use sorted observations at zero-based indices floor(n×0.25) and floor(n×0.75); medians use floor(n/2), the upper middle observation for even groups.

No retained listing URL repeats. Different URLs may still describe the same cart or overlapping dealer inventory; the file has no reliable vehicle identifier for deduplicating that. Seating fields sometimes contain colors or power labels, and reported condition is not independently inspected. This is one collected marketplace snapshot, not a census, sold-price dataset or a forecast. Use its counts and prices to form a shortlist, then obtain current comparable offers and an inspection.
