Eco Battery announced its acquisition of Golf Carts Modified, also known as GCMOD, on September 30, 2026. The lithium battery company says authorized dealers will remain its primary sales channel and that it will continue enforcing its advertised-price and resale-price policies.

Golf Cart Search compared the announcement with the companies' earlier product release and GCMOD's posted warranty. Their joint 76V battery launch came 113 days before the acquisition announcement. The warranty carries a June 1 effective date and provides six years of repair-or-replacement coverage before moving to discounted batteries and, later, selected parts.

Why did Eco Battery acquire Golf Carts Modified?

Eco Battery says the deal connects its engineering and manufacturing with GCMOD's golf cart owner community and performance-parts business. The company plans to use owners' product feedback and installation experiences to help develop new products for dealers. That is its stated reason for the acquisition; the announcement supplies no sales results for the combined operation.

What preceded the Eco Battery acquisition?

The companies announced their 76V 105Ah Lithium Power Pack on June 9. Eco Battery described it as a system for modified carts using high-amp controllers, performance motors, larger tires and multiple accessories. Those are the manufacturer's intended applications; the announcement does not supply independent performance testing.

The document sequence is:

DatePublic documentWhat it establishes

June 9, 2026Joint battery launch announcementA product partnership was publicly announced

Our comparison covers these three documents as available on October 5. The 113-day interval measures the two announcement dates, not the length of negotiations or the date ownership changed. A warranty's effective date also does not establish when it first appeared online.

What does the GCMOD 76V lifetime warranty cover?

For eligible registered GCMOD 76V batteries, the posted limited warranty offers six years of repair or replacement, followed by discounted batteries and selected parts. ECO Capital, Inc. is the named warrantor:

Time from purchasePublished benefit
First six yearsRepair or replacement at the warrantor's discretion
After six years through year nineNew battery at 50% of then-current MSRP
After nine years through year twelveNew battery at 75% of then-current MSRP
After twelve yearsApproved replacement parts; buyer pays installation costs

Registration within 60 days is required for full coverage; otherwise coverage is limited to one year. The policy is nontransferable and excludes Alaska and Hawaii. During the repair-or-replacement period, the buyer must prepay $300 for shipping and handling. Exclusions include improper installation, use beyond rated continuous current, and repeated commercial cycling beyond 80% depth of discharge within 24-hour periods.

For an installation quote, ask the dealer to identify the exact battery, attach its warranty and confirm who handles registration and claims. Keep those documents with the receipt. Our lithium conversion guide explains the other components to review; our golf cart warranty guide covers exclusions, transfer rules and claim paperwork.

What has Eco Battery committed to dealers?

In its acquisition announcement, Eco Battery says authorized dealers will remain its primary sales channel. Its Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) and Unilateral Minimum Resale Price (UMRP) policies will continue.

The company says GCMOD has launched a dealer platform and will distribute other brands. It identifies GCMOD as the exclusive B2B distributor for X-Comp's golf tire line, alongside GCMOD-branded batteries, installation accessories and custom wheels. These are company commitments and distribution claims; the announcement provides no dealer-level margin or fulfillment data.

Dealers evaluating the platform can request the current product list, eligibility requirements, written pricing policies and claim-routing instructions. Those materials would allow a comparison with their existing suppliers. A broader product catalog alone does not answer questions about stock, delivery time or support for an individual installation.

Which acquisition details remain undisclosed?

The announcement gives no purchase price, closing date or detailed transaction structure. It also does not set out replacement warranty terms for existing customers. The June policy can be read on its own terms; the public documents do not establish whether the acquisition changed any particular customer's agreement.
