Four-seat forward-facing golf carts put both rows in the direction of travel. If that is the layout you want, start by comparing the E-Z-GO Liberty 4F, Club Car Onward 4 Forward LSV and Evolution D5 Ranger 4 Plus. All three offer it, but their prices, dimensions and road-use configurations differ.
The easiest shopping mistake is searching only for “four passenger.” That can also mean two people facing forward and two facing backward. Even familiar model names need checking: E-Z-GO's 2027 Liberty 4 is a 2+2 layout; the Liberty 4F is all-forward. Its current Liberty 4 page explicitly describes the rear-facing back row.
This is a comparison of manufacturer-published specifications checked September 6, 2026, not a hands-on ride test or a ranking of crash protection. If you are still deciding how many people to carry, use our 2-, 4- and 6-seat comparison first.
Four-seat forward-facing golf carts compared
These three candidates give you a manageable starting point for dealer visits. They are not the entire market, and the starting prices do not represent equivalent equipment packages.
| Exact model | Starting price | Length × width × roof height |
|---|---|---|
| 2027 E-Z-GO Liberty 4F X | $13,499 MSRP | 119 × 47 × 76.2 inches |
| Club Car Onward 4 Forward LSV | $14,999 | 120 × 49 × 79 inches |
| Evolution D5 Ranger 4 Plus | $10,699 MSRP | 114.6 × 55.8 × 79.5 inches |
Configuration matters: the Liberty 4F specification linked below lists 19 mph, and its model page identifies an LSV option on the XTL trim. The $13,499 X starting price is not a quoted LSV price. The Club Car row is specifically an LSV; Evolution's linked specification lists a 19 mph configuration. E-Z-GO also notes that specifications vary by package, so confirm dimensions for the quoted trim.

Prices are the manufacturers' displayed figures on the check date. Obtain a written quote that separates vehicle, battery option, accessories, freight, preparation, tax and registration charges. E-Z-GO and Evolution explicitly exclude multiple such charges from MSRP. Our out-the-door cost guide explains how to compare the final totals.
E-Z-GO Liberty 4F: check the model year and suffix
Start here if you want an all-forward layout and have a nearby E-Z-GO dealer. The 2027 4F range uses ELiTE lithium power. Its X, XT and XTL trims add different equipment, so a higher-priced listing may reflect a different trim rather than a dealer charging more for the same cart. If you need an LSV, request a quote for that configuration; the manufacturer describes the option under XTL, whose displayed starting MSRP is $16,299 before configuring it.
The naming distinction matters more than any accessory: do not substitute a Liberty 4 quote for a Liberty 4F quote. E-Z-GO also lists a 2026 Liberty among its past models. An older listing that says only “Liberty” needs a year and a seating photo before you can compare it with current inventory.
For an older cart's broader identity, start with our EZGO models-by-year guide. Use the current manufacturer's specifications for a new 2027 quote.
Club Car Onward 4 Forward LSV: compare the LSV package
This is the candidate to inspect if your plan depends on buying a factory LSV configuration. Club Car's linked page identifies the vehicle as an LSV and lists three-point belts in both rows. The specification sheet gives a 25 mph high speed and an 850 lb vehicle load capacity.
That load figure is worth checking against your actual passengers and gear. Four seats do not mean every combination of four adults and cargo fits the weight allowance. Also ask whether accessories count toward the available load and have the dealer demonstrate the rear storage arrangement.
Our Club Car review covers the broader brand. For this purchase, keep the words 4 Forward LSV on the quote, since the Onward model family contains other layouts and configurations.
Evolution D5 Ranger 4 Plus: lower listed price, wider footprint
The D5 Ranger 4 Plus has the lowest published price of these three examples. It is also shorter and wider in the linked dimensions. That combination could suit a shallow parking space but fail a narrow gate.
Evolution's page lists lithium power, a rear storage trunk and a maximum speed of 19 mph. Do not turn a separate dealer claim of “25 mph” or “street legal” into an assumption about this exact configuration. Ask for the specification and certification documents for the vehicle being sold.
Use our Evolution review for brand-level buying considerations and the Evolution model directory to distinguish Ranger, Maverick and other body styles. A similar-looking cart with a different suffix may have different seating or suspension.
What the dimensions mean in your driveway
The practical difference is not simply “long cart versus short cart.” The listed Ranger 4 Plus is 4.4 inches shorter but 8.8 inches wider than the 2027 Liberty 4F. Those differences are calculated from the manufacturer dimensions above, not measurements of test vehicles.
Before a deposit:
- Measure the narrowest opening. Include the garage-door frame or gate posts. Ask whether the published width includes mirrors, then measure the actual cart with mirrors positioned for driving.
- Measure height at the entrance. Check the lowest door or opener hardware, not just the ceiling. The exact roof, tires and lift package affect clearance.
- Mark the parking footprint. Leave room to enter both rows, reach the charging connection and walk around the cart. A vehicle that just fits inside a rectangle may still be awkward to use.
- Try the turn into the space. A published body length does not tell you whether the cart can make your driveway turn without reversing.
Our golf cart dimensions guide helps with general space planning. If you will carry the cart on a trailer, also check transport dimensions and loading requirements for the actual vehicle and accessories.
Forward-facing versus rear-facing: test the back row
The reason to pay for a second forward-facing row is that your passengers prefer riding there. Establish that with the people who will actually use it.
At the dealership, sit in the second row with the front seat occupied. Check knee space, foot placement, armrests, belt adjustment and how easily each passenger gets in and out. Then take a permitted test ride with the expected passenger load, within the vehicle's ratings. A solo drive from the front seat misses the main reason for this purchase.
Compare the same exercise in a conventional 2+2 cart. If rear passengers ride only occasionally and you regularly haul bulky equipment, a flip-seat cargo arrangement may be more useful. If the back row gets daily use, passenger preference may justify an all-forward model even when another layout offers more cargo flexibility.
Seat direction alone does not prove a cart is safer. We have not established a comparable crash-test result for these three vehicles. Restraints, occupant fit, vehicle design, operating speed and the route all matter. Do not assume that a forward-facing golf-cart seat provides the protection or child-restraint compatibility of a passenger car. Follow the exact vehicle and restraint instructions; our golf cart safety guide is a starting point for the questions to resolve.
A conventional rear flip-seat kit is not a shortcut to this layout. Turning a seat around does not create the required passenger space, chassis design or approved restraint mountings. Get manufacturer confirmation of any proposed conversion before buying parts.
Four forward-facing seats do not establish road legality
A seating photo cannot tell you whether a vehicle is an LSV. The federal low-speed vehicle standard, FMVSS 500, sets requirements for that vehicle category; state and local rules govern registration and where it may operate.
For a road-use purchase, ask the seller to identify the exact certified configuration and provide the certification label, VIN and origin/title documents for that vehicle. Then check your state's golf cart and LSV rules and the roads you intend to use. Our LSV versus golf cart guide explains the category distinction.
This is why a $10,699 specification-page price and a $14,999 LSV starting price are not enough to decide which offers better value. First make the quotes match your required use, then compare the cost.
Which one belongs on your test-drive list?
| Your need | Start with | Before paying |
|---|---|---|
| E-Z-GO with all seats forward | Liberty 4F, year specified | Match trim, battery and LSV option |
| Factory Club Car LSV | Onward 4 Forward LSV | Check local rules, total cost and load fit |
| Lowest listed price here | D5 Ranger 4 Plus | Verify speed, service and garage width |
| Back seats do not suit your passengers | Keep shopping | Try another layout |

Frequently asked questions
Which golf carts have four forward-facing seats?
Examples include the E-Z-GO Liberty 4F, Club Car Onward 4 Forward LSV and Evolution D5 Ranger 4 Plus. Verify the complete model name and the actual seating layout, since other four-passenger models from the same brands have rear-facing back seats.
Is the 2027 E-Z-GO Liberty 4 the same as the Liberty 4F?
No. The 2027 Liberty 4 has two forward-facing and two rear-facing seats. The Liberty 4F has four forward-facing seats. Older Liberty listings use different naming, so check model year as well as the badge.
How much does a four-forward golf cart cost?
Manufacturer pages checked September 6, 2026 listed the D5 Ranger 4 Plus at $10,699 MSRP, the 2027 Liberty 4F X from $13,499 and the Onward 4 Forward LSV from $14,999. These are three different entry configurations, not a market-wide price range or equivalent delivered quotes. Taxes, delivery, options and road-use configuration can change the total.
Are forward-facing golf carts automatically street legal?
No. Seat direction does not establish vehicle certification or road access. Verify the exact vehicle, its certification label and paperwork, and state and local requirements. A model family can include both golf-cart and LSV configurations.
Will a four-forward cart fit in a small garage?
Measure the exact cart with its roof, mirrors and accessories installed. The published models in this comparison are about 115 to 120 inches long, but width, roof height, entry clearance and space to walk around the vehicle also matter.
Can a rear flip-seat kit make a cart four-forward?
A conventional rear-facing flip-seat kit does not create a forward-facing second row. A forward conversion requires a purpose-designed solution for the chassis, footwell, seats and restraints. Verify an approved conversion with the manufacturer before purchasing parts.
